The Beau Brummell Club Historical Highlights
Our Legacy
Inspired by the timeless elegance of George Bryan Brummell, the Beau Brummell Club, Inc. was founded in 1940 by twenty men united by class, tradition, and distinction. Chartered in Louisiana in 1948, the Club has remained a symbol of refinement for more than eight decades.
The Beau Brummell Club is the first and only organization to require white tie and tails (Costume de Rigueur) for both members and guests. Our inaugural Carnival Ball was held in 1941, and we proudly broke tradition by selecting our Queen from among attending guests through a public, random process.
Over seventy women have graced the throne as Queen, and slightly over one hundred men have earned the honor of being named Beau — a distinction reserved for few and remembered forever.
